Matthew Hunter is a potter offering functional stoneware from his studio in the Connecticut River Valley.
Hi, Iām Matthew. I came to pottery by a love of coffee and the functional ware used for brewing and serving, cultivated through many years of working and lurking in cafes around the country. That affinity, as well as a growing appreciation for handmade crafts and folk art, drives my work as a potter.
I'm inspired by the daily ritual of brewing coffee, the functional and clever gear made for outdoor recreation, and the simplicity of Japanese and Scandinavian design. My goal is to make pots that are both inherently familiar and a little unexpected.

MADE BY HAND
Each and every piece I offer is made by hand. While I strive for consistency, the nature of handmade items is that no two pieces are exactly the same. Every product listing includes approximate measurements/capacity, but there may be slight variations in shape, size, or color from piece to piece.
